Zebra is proud to introduce the MC9300; the next evolution in the highly successful MC9000 series. The MC9300 preserves the best polestars of the MC9000 while introducing a new technology platform that has the power to run applications with highly intuitive interfaces that will further simplify processes and increase worker productivity in the toughest environments. It is important to note that the Zebra MC9300 will be offered in both Premium (full features) and Standard (basic features) models. The introduction of the MC9300 does not signal the end of life, nor does it replace the MC9190 family of products. The MC9300 and MC9200 will coexist in the marketplace, further detail on the Zebra MC9300 model options and positioning of the MC9XXX series is provided in the remainder of this bulletin.
The MC9300 incorporates the latest generation technology platform – MPA 3.0 – offering application investment protection when transitioning from prior generations of platform-based products, and is positioned to support future applications as they become available. Our best-in-class data capture options give your customers the most scanning options to meet their business needs. To further protect customer investments, the MC9200 will be fully compatible with Motorola’s extensive suite of MC9000-G accessories. |
Retail customers can get their high-volume POS lanes ready for the customers of today and tomorrow with the МP7000 Scanner/Scale. With this multi-plane bioptic imager, cashiers can capture virtually any 1D or 2D bar code in practically any condition, with blazing speed — whether it is printed on a paper label or a plastic loyalty or gift card, or displayed on the screen of a mobile phone. And the modular design allows retailers to add a Customer Side Scanner to capture mobile bar codes displayed on a shopper’s mobile phone, plastic loyalty cards and more; a handheld scanner; EAS; while providing expandability for future requirements, such as an RFID reader. The result? Higher throughput and fewer abandoned sales, as well as a great last impression that will foster increased loyalty and return visits.
Minimize breakdown and maintenance costs — there are no moving parts in the scan engine, reducing power consumption by at least 30 percent; its capacitive buttons won’t wear out. Omni-directional scanning plus a 6-sided 720° coverage zone — just swipe and go. Optional Customer Side Scanner allow customers to simultaneously scan their own loyalty cards, coupons, impulse buy items and bar codes displayed on their mobile phones — can be added at any time. |
Motorola’s Advanced Data Capture Division is pleased to announce the release of a new Micro Kiosk product, the MK3100. The MK3100 is a multi-functional Micro Kiosk with an 8” WVGA display that enables enterprises to put the power of self-service in the hands of their customers—delivering an interactive and compelling customer experience. With its slender design, enterprises can easily deploy multiple units at strategic locations in a variety of markets. The MK3100 is ideal for large and medium sized enterprises to improve customer satisfaction, deliver powerful self-service solutions, influence consumer buying decisions and increase employee productivity, and in certain instances it helps to ensure compliance with local government regulations. This will allow store associates to be redeployed to enhance their productivity and boost store revenue.
Because you can scan electronic bar codes on a computer screen, you can connect to the one personal device that is nearly always in the hands of your customers – their mobile phone. The result is convenience and value. Customers always have their loyalty cards, coupons, boarding passes and more on hand all the time, saving time and money. |
Motorola is proud to introduce the MC9190-Z - high performance industrial-grade rugged RFID handheld terminal that delivers best-in-class RFID read range and accuracy. Rugged, reliable and ergonomic, it excels in demanding industrial environments. The MC9190-Z is the next evolution in the highly successful MC9090 G and Z series of industrial RFID handhelds, preserving the best polestar features while maintaining backward compatibility to all existing MC9090 accessories.
Additionally the MC9190-Z incorporates the latest generation technology platform – MPA 2.0 – offering application investment protection. As well as four best in class data capture options − 1D and 2D bar codes, RFID and DPM − giving your customers even more options to meet their business needs. |
The MC2100 is a new mobile computing for the Line Worker Segment, and it is positioned as new Value Tier solution in of our Mobile Computing portfolio. It incorporates many of the same features found in our other Line Worker solutions, such as the same scan engines, processor platform, and attention to durable design but packaged in a compact, slim configuration to meet the basic needs of inventory management solutions.
MC2100 is positioned nicely below the Zebra MC3100 Series data capture terminal while addressing several desirable features that our MC1000 line lacks. As such, it diversifies our Value Tier offering and complements our mid to premium tier portfolios.
Compared to the MC1000, MC2100 is clearly a more capable product with a significantly faster processor, more memory, larger color display, touch panel, more robust keypad, WLAN, Bluetooth, three scan engine options, and optimized ergonomics.
Industrial design is ergonomically optimized to increase comfort for one-handed use. Comfort, low device weight, and optimal balance reduce end-user fatigue and simplify usability. |
A QR code—a type of bar code that anyone can scan using a smart phone and a free app—directs the phone to a Web site or other content. While manufacturers will likely be adding QR codes to product packaging as the technology catches on, Jeff suggests forward-thinking retailers seize upon the possibilities now, and apply QR codes to the shelf edge as part of their mobile strategy. Just think how shelf-edge QR codes could instantly provide shoppers with coupons or relevant information such as country of origin, recipes, and the like.
Other interesting uses I’ve seen or heard of lately include several restaurants with these codes in their windows. You scan the code, and it takes you to a Google Reviews page where you can read what other people thought, see the menu and hours of operation, and get the link to their website if you want more information. There was a billboard that was just a large QR code. This approach will work while the idea is new and still clever, but will probably fade as they become more common place.

October 12, 2010 – The Magellan™ 3300HSi high performance omni-directional scanner is the latest imaging-based scanner from Datalogic Scanning. Accompanying the recently announced Magellan™ 3200VSi scanner, the Magellan 3300HSi scanner is the world’s first in-counter single plane scanner to use imaging technology. The result is a bar code scanner that leverages the reading performance of laser scanners with added benefits, including the ability to read two-dimensional (2-D) bar code symbologies.
The Magellan 3300HSi scanner uses new imaging technology and software developed by Datalogic Scanning to considerably improve the scanner’s first pass read rates on hard-to-read bar codes, such as truncated codes and GS1 DataBar™ codes. This yields a performance gain for the retailer’s point-of-sale system by increasing operational efficiency while ensuring faster and better customer service.

The Magellan™ 3200VSi bar code reader brings Datalogic’s new imaging technology to the high-volume point-of-sale.
It is the first bar code scanner to duplicate the speed and wide field-of-view of high-performance omnidirectional laser scanners while adding the benefits associated with imaging. This imaging technology provides outstanding performance when capturing hard-to-read bar codes such as truncated (short), out-of-spec, poorly printed and GS1 DataBar™ codes, and provides support for both linear (1D) and 2D label decoding. The Magellan 3200VSi imager enables both sweep and presentation scanning techniques ensuring maximum productivity and ergonomic ease.
